The Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bhojpur is a district level Farm Science center established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi at Ara, Bhojpur district of Bihar with the intention to transfer technologies to the farmers fields. The operational area of this Krishi Vigyan Kendra is Ara which is the administrative headquarter of the Bhojpur district. It is located at a longitude of 83º-45′ to 84º-45′ East and the latitude is 25º-10′ to 25º-40′ North and is situated at a height of 193 meters above sea level.
The Aim of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bhojpur is technology assessment and refinement through demonstration of technology products and dissemination through training of farmers and extension personnel. In order to achieve this goal, four mandates have been envisaged in the design of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra
The Four Mandates are:
- Conducting “On-farm testing” for identifying technologies in terms of location specific sustainable land use systems.
- Organize training to update the extension personal with emerging advances in agriculture research as regular basis.
- Organize short and long-term vocational training course in agriculture and allied vocations for the farmers and rural youths with emphasis on “learning by doing” for higher production on farms and generating self employment.
- Organize front line demonstrations on various crops to generate production data and feedback information.
